Q: Can I just rent your excavator or skid steer?
A: No sorry, I don’t “dry hire” my equipment.

Q: Can you haul materials like crushed rock for my project?
A: Yes I can – however if large quantities are required (more than four tonne) – then it may be more economical to have the supplier deliver the material instead.

Q: Can you work around existing pipes and cables?
A: Yes I can if I know where they are. Before any excavation work it is important to locate all services to avoid damaging them. I will perform a “Dial-before-you-dig” search for your site, but that will (usually) show only known services like telephone lines, water mains and sewers, and gas lines. Domestic services like household and garden plumbing and power cables are your responsibility to locate and mark so that I can avoid them.

Q: How close can you excavate along a fence line, or building?
A: My excavator has a “swing boom” meaning that it can, depending on the situation, dig a trench as close as 30cm along a fence or building foundation.

Q: Can you remove excess material excavated from my project?
A: If necessary, yes, depending on type and quantity and this may incur a tip fee.

Q: Can you excavate rock?
A: No, I don’t have the equipment to saw, or break up rock.

Q: I need excavation done on a site that is difficult to access, can you help?
A: Yes I can, my mini excavator is only 980mm wide and weighs one and a half tonnes so it can even be craned into difficult to reach work sites if necessary.
