Drainage ditch and table drain cleaning and construction
One of the main reasons that gravel driveways and roads fail and develop potholes and erosion is table drains that are incorrectly built or fill up due to lack of maintenance. They can also become the site of erosion themselves, requiring renovation to prevent further damage
The goal with any table drain is to catch water – both from the surrounding land and the road itself and carry it away.
The best table drain design uses geotextile fabric at the bottom to prevent erosion and grass growth, and broken rock to slow down the water movement.
When done right an effective table drain can significantly extend the lifespan of a road or driveway and protect the investment you have already made.
Poorly constructed, or left unmaintained a table drain can allow water to pool and create soft spots and erosion.
